Fees — Mediation and Arbitration

Effective September 1, 2026

Mediation

Half day mediation (3 hours) plus preparation time$2,400

Full day mediation (7 hours) plus preparation time$4,500

Where mediation runs beyond the allotted time$450/hour

Cancellation fee (mediation cancelled on less than 30 days' notice)$1,000 plus HST

Arbitration

Each full or part day of arbitration * includes preparation of award$4,500

Travel and Expenses

Expenses that may be incurred include hearing rooms if arranged by my office, accommodation if overnight travel is required, and mileage of $0.70 a kilometre if more than 100 km must be travelled to attend the mediation. Within 100 km of travel, no mileage fee is charged.

Payment of Account

Fees and expenses are to be shared equally by the parties. Each party is only responsible for one-half of these fees and expenses, unless a different arrangement is agreed to at or before the mediation, such as where one of the parties agrees to pay the total fees and expenses.

The law firm representing a party is responsible for that party's share of fees, cancellation, or adjournment fees and disbursements.

Fees are subject to HST and are due when invoiced.
